Dear Ruby Theatre fans,

Springtime brings amazing and dynamic weather to Chelan Valley. One day it’s rain and wind and white caps on the lake, and snow in the higher elevations, another day we bask in warm sun and slow walks in the park or in the hills.  We have come to count on these changes. Film has captured some of these wild and dramatic patterns, so we wanted to share a few with you.  Hold on to your hats!

The Perfect Storm (PG-13, 2000) -An unusually intense storm pattern catches some commercial fishermen unaware and puts them in mortal danger. With George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg.

The Hurricane Heist ( PG-13, 2018) -Thieves attempt a massive heist against the U.S. Treasury as a Category 5 hurricane approaches one of its Mint facilities.

A Room With A View ( PG-13, 1985) – Lucy meets George in a Florence pensione and the two share a brief romance before Lucy returns home, where she becomes engaged to Cecil. However, it isn’t long before George unexpectedly enters her life again. OK- we added this cuz we love this classic. Look for the sunny picnic scenes and then the rainstorm scene! Star-filled cast, and Daniel Day-Lewis early in his career.

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (PG, 2009)- A local scientist is often regarded as a failure until he invents a machine that can make food fall from the sky. But little does he know, that things are about to take a turn for the worst.

And don’t forget The Wizard of Oz, The Day After Tomorrow, and Twister!
