“The Boys in the Boat” continues

The Ruby Theatre continues “The Boy in the Boat” (PG-13) Jan 26-30 at 7 pm Fri, Sat, Mon, Tues and 3 pm Sat and Sunday. Come see this great film!

Based on a true story, and the bestseller by Daniel James Brown. The triumphant underdog story of the University of Washington men’s rowing team, who stunned the world by winning gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Directed by George Clooney and starring Callum Turner as Joe Rantz, Joel Edgerton as coach Al Ulbrickson. This one will have you cheering!  Join us for a special Ruby pre-show about a local Chelan Valley connection to UW rowing. And if you wear purple and gold to the show the Ruby offers a dollar-off-discount on every Ruby popcorn and soda Combo. So come on in and show your colors!

Feb 2-6:  “The Boy and the Heron” (PG)….. a magnificent film. 
2024 Golden Globe winner for Best Animated Film and numerous awards from Boston, LA, Florida, NY film critic associations and more. A semi-autobiographical animated fantasy about life, death, and creation,
 in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki. Scored 97% on Rotten Tomatoes! All star voices – Christian Bale, Willem Defoe, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Masaki Suda, Mark Hamill and more. The “anime” artistry is a wonder to experience.

Feb 9-13: “Ferrari” (R) dramatic story of the man behind the racing car and the “Mille Miglia”, an open road, endurance-based race lasting one thousand miles. Stars Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz.

Feb 16-20: “The Color Purple” (PG-13), a grand musical and new take on the book by the same title. Oprah produced this one.
