The Ruby presents: “Rental Family” (PG-13) Dec. 12th-Dec. 16th, at 7 PM Fri, Sat, Mon, and 5:30 PM Tues, and 3 PM Sunday. An American actor in Tokyo struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese “rental family” agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. As he immerses himself in his clients’ worlds, he begins to form genuine bonds that blur the lines between performance and reality.

Each Christmas, Santa and his vast army of highly trained elves produce gifts and distribute them around the world in one night. However, when one of 600 million children to receive a gift from Santa on Christmas Eve is missed, it is deemed ‘acceptable’ to all but one – Arthur. Arthur Claus is Santa’s misfit son who executes an unauthorized rookie mission to get the last present half way around the globe before dawn on Christmas morning.

The Ruby Theatre wishes to honor the memory of Teresa Farrell-Pascoe (1971-2025), owner of Bear Foods with her husband Nick Pascoe. Teresa was a friend and wonderful supporter of the Ruby Theatre and cinema. Arthur Christmas was one of her favorite Christmas films.
